In 1975 local farmers and ranchers saw a need to draw together all the different realms of agriculture in Okanogan County into one cohesive group. That group was officially incorporated as Okanogan County Farm Bureau (OCFB). For the last 36 years, OCFB has faithfully represented, protected and promoted our local agricultural lifestyles at the county, state and federal levels.
OCFB is led by a volunteer board of directors composed of Okanogan County resident farmers, ranchers and business owners. Board members are constantly active in our communities promoting agriculture and education on the issues that are effecting and jeopardizing our livelihoods. OCFB board members attend the majority of county commissioner, WDF&W, DNR and legislative hearings and meetings on behalf of our members in an effort to keep them informed on the issues affecting Okanogan County and our way of life, rights and livelihood.
OCFB actively donates every year to the local fair and provides buckles to the kids in acknowledgement of their hard work and achievements. OCFB donates Ag in the Classroom materials for all of our local schools to educate our youth on the importance of agriculture in our county. OCFB is also proud to be the main sponsor for the Tonasket Bulls & Barrels consecutively for the last 3 years. This local event promotes youth participation and encourages Okanogan County’s future farmers and ranchers to continue our western heritage.
